Four awards are given each year at the ICCFA Excellence in Teaching and Learning Conference in Springfield. We are seeking nominations for the following awards.
- A certificate of recognition/appreciation may be awarded to those persons who have made significant contributions to the Association and/or education in the State of Illinois.
- An honorary membership, the highest award given to non-community college faculty, may be given to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the Association and/or education in the State of Illinois. There shall be no more than one such award given per year.
- The Linda Hefferin life-time membership may be bestowed upon a community college faculty member retiring from the community college system, who has served on the Executive Committee of and made outstanding contributions to the Association. Such recognition shall be given at the annual conference.
- The Leo Welch Faculty of the Year award may be given to an outstanding community college faculty member.
Guidelines for such awards shall be drawn up and implemented by a committee appointed by the President of the Association
All community college faculty (full time and part time) are members of the Illinois Community College Faculty Association and therefore are eligible to nominate.
We typically begin accepting nominations for the these awards in the Spring of each year. All awards will be announced at the annual conference.
