The Illinois Community College Board is pleased to announce the release of the FY2021 Integrated Education and Training Grant. This grant is designed to support the development, improvement, and scale of integrated education and training (IET) programs. The ICCB is dedicated to the expansion and improvement of career pathways through programming such as IET. The objectives adhere to Section 124 of the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) as well as Sections 203 and 231 of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act under Title II, Adult Education and Family Literacy.

ICAPS is a partnership between Career and Technical Education and Adult Education within a community college aimed at providing real college credit-based program outcomes in a career pathway, including certificates and industry recognized credentials.  By doing this and drawing upon community partnerships and local resources, students are empowered to forge a new career path for themselves and their families. Illinois Community Colleges are able to develop ICAPS programs through participation in the Illinois Transitions Academy.  The Transitions Academy is designed to assist colleges and partnerships working on developing Bridge and ICAPS programs by increasing awareness of the expanding partnership between Adult Education and Career and Technical Education as it relates to the ICAPS model, Accelerating Opportunity, Illinois Bridge programs, and Illinois Programs of Study.
