The Illinois Community College Board is the state coordinating board for community colleges and has statutory responsibility for administering state and federal grants to community college districts and adult education providers and managing high school equivalency testing for Illinois. The Illinois Community College Board is assisted by an executive director and staff of approximately 50 located in Springfield and Chicago.

Illinois community colleges serve almost 700,000 residents each year in credit, noncredit, and continuing education courses. Illinois is home to 48 colleges in 39 community college districts which provide high quality, accessible, cost-effective educational opportunities to the entire state.

SPRINGFIELD

Adult Education and Literacy Division

  • Associate Director for Adult Education and Literacy—Data System Support: We invite applications for the position of Associate Director for Adult Education and Literacy—Data System Support. This position will report to the Senior Director for Adult Education and Literacy. The position will be responsible for providing technical assistance to adult education and literacy providers in the interpretation of policies and procedures consistent with the objectives of the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) including, but not limited to, application process, assessment, curricula, data collection and reporting, and revenues and expenditures.This position is classified under the State Universities Civil Service System. Information Technology Division

  • Senior Director for Information Technology: We invite applications for the position of Senior Director for Information Technology. This position will report to the Deputy Director for Information Technology. This position has responsibility for overall management of the Information Technology Division, including management of data, applications, hardware, and networking. The position provides leadership for systems development and enhancements. A strong background in IT infrastructure and server administration is desired. Facility with Linux and multiple programming languages is beneficial. Salary range: $60,000-$63,625. All ICCB staff are employees of the State of Illinois. Our employment practices are governed by the Statutes and Rules of the State Universities Civil Service System (SUCSS). Within SUCSS, each position is assigned to a civil service job classification that carries its own specific and distinct set of minimum qualifications. Those job qualifications are used in evaluating each applicants’ educational background and experience in order to determine their eligibility for employment. Employment applications filed with other State agencies or employment systems are not acceptable applications for employment with this office.
