DACC has a Financial Aid office that provides financ= ial assistance options to support the general student population in pursing t= heir education. The office also = offers services to assist Veterans with educational benefits who desire to attend college. The services inclu= de VA certification, Financial Aid advisement, referral information, instructio= ns on how toe complete general documents as well as all additional services provided to the general student population. We have two employees that are O= ffice Specialist in the Financial Aid office that work directly with Veteran benefit related concerns. |
We do not officially have a Veterans Club. There are some events throughout= the year that support and honor our Veterans. In recent years during Constitut= ion Week, around September 17th.&= nbsp; WE have offered 3-5 full days of events several that specifically focus on our Veterans. |

This is it for now.= We are looking into expanding the responsibilities to include some form of personal counseling just focused on their issues. I don’t know about everyon= e else but we are seeing more and more emotional and psychological issues relate= d to our vets. |

In October, the Student Services division partnered = with IDES and hosted a Veterans Resource Day that was attended by over 100 veterans who came from surrounding counties. State Representative Lisa Dugan welcomes the group and representatives from most of the federal and state agencies made brief presentations on benefits and services. We plan to offer similar events = on a smaller scale more frequently. |

Also, we do a veterans ceremony = on Veterans Day developed through a college-wide committee. |
