Providing equity for my students allows them the opportunity to be more successful in the classroom setting. I feel as though I practice equity in my classroom by building relationships with my students by greeting them by their name, making eye contact when they are sharing ideas, providing positive feedback on assignments and discussions, and learning about their life so I can provide them with what they need to be successful. The equity checklist provided in the lesson was very helpful for me to gage where I am at in my teaching and what I can do to further equity in my classroom. This is an important topic that needs to be continued to be discussed and practiced in the classroom.
