I like to think that I have always promoted equity in my classroom as an educator. I always make it a point to really get to know my students. I always greet them by name. I tend to ask them questions about different things going on in their lives t o show I listen, care and understand they have other things going on in their life. I think it is important to build those relationships and trust and that then helps to create the equity within my lessons and classroom. Knowing the different things about my students helps me to plan instruction that in meaningful and engaging to them.
